Millions of people need regular prescriptions of medications in order to properly manage their health.  While we have all learned to trust our pharmacists, the fact is that they can make mistakes just like anyone else.  However, pharmacy mistakes can lead to serious consequences for the patient.  One local man experienced this firsthand when he discovered that he was not given the correct medication and became very ill as a result. The law of personal injury in Florida is one that provides every person with rights if they have been wronged.  The law doesn’t differentiate between social statuses, economic statuses or any other superficial distinctions.  If someone has been injured due to the negligence of someone else, that person has the right to pursue legal damages in order to be compensated for loss.  Tragically, one homeless man will never see what rights he may have had at his disposal after being struck by a large vehicle and killed in Deerfield Beach. The state government is known for its slow-moving, deliberate pace and its tendency to overlook details.  While some of these oversights are relatively harmless and more annoying than anything, other mistakes are so egregious that an innocent person has to pay the ultimate price as a result.  Such could be the case with a hit-and-run accident in Pompano Beach in which the arrested driver had his driving privileges suspended 19 times. Traffic accidents can occur at almost any time, and anyone who takes to the roads or sidewalks needs to be prepared to deal with the mistakes of others.  However, sitting down to lunch at a bagel shop usually does not require vigilance for mistakes made by those behind on the wheel on the nearby roads.  Unfortunately, that belief was proved false yesterday when a vehicle crashed into a Pompano Beach bagel shop, injuring the driver and a patron inside. When a rear-end crash occurs, it’s almost always found to be the fault of the driver who comes up from behind the other vehicle.  The reason is that the law assumes that everyone will drive defensively and avoid vehicles they can see.  Tragically, a rear-end crash near Boca Raton Thursday evening killed a young man, and no word has yet been given regarding fault in the accident. Intersections can be difficult to negotiate for anyone who’s behind the wheel, particularly when it comes to making the judgment of whether turning left and across oncoming traffic is a safe maneuver at the time.  Such a decision requires attention and judgment of the speed of any oncoming vehicles.  Tragically, it appears that one area driver did not accurately estimate the speed of an oncoming vehicle, and it led to the death of his passenger in a collision. Bicyclists can be seen on just about any roadway in and around South Florida, as the climate here is obviously amenable to such a form of travel and exercise.  However, bicyclists face significant disadvantages every time they share the road with much larger vehicles, and when accidents occur they often lead to disastrous results.  One bicyclist in Pompano Beach was seriously injured when hit by a car this morning.
